Dermaplaning FAQs

What are the benefits of dermaplaning?
The results can vary for everyone, but realistically, you can expect to see and feel smoother skin, zero peach fuzz (until it grows back, of course), and brighter-looking skin. The treatment works to remove facial hair and dead skin cells that can trap dirt and oils, by removing your dead skin cells, your skincare products will penetrate your skin better when you apply them, making them all the more effective. One more added benefit no more makeup caught in your peach fuzz!

Will hair grow back darker & thicker?
Dermaplaning does not affect the hair follicle under the skin, therefore it will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. Once your hair begins to grow back, it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, but it's actually the same texture as it was before and it will grow at the same speed.

What are the side effects of dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is safe for all skin types, especially those with sun damage, fine lines, dry patches, and dull skin. But, there are some exceptions; If you have highly reactive, sensitive skin (like rosacea or keratosis pilaris or active acne), you may want to pass on this treatment, since it could possibly irritate your skin.

Will Dermaplaning cause my face to breakout?
Quite the opposite, actually. A buildup of dead skin can clog your pores and hair follicles, which can cause pimples and blackheads, that is why exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow. But, if you already have an existing breakout we can work around it, depending on location, or you can wait until it clears up.

Does Dermaplaning hurt?
The service is completely safe and pain-free. Most people explain the sensation being similar to scratching one's own face.
